Let’s talk about AI art. In February, we asked anyone interested in writing for or illustrating the April 1 edition to let us know. I didn’t hear from any artists, and so I did use AI art for what I wrote.
Frankly, I’m glad I did. I think some of the art in this issue has an important role in the storytelling.
But if you are a human artist and can volunteer for The Cascadian, the offer still stands. I’d love to work with a human artist, like I did back in the days of the Lakewood Journal.
I’m hoping by next year, we’ll have a few more authors sharing stories as well.
Oh by the way April 1 is April Fool’s. I think you probably already knew that. Saying it, just in case!!

Not exactly subtle April Fool stuff, but amusing. And gawdknows we need something amusing with a mad dog (named “King”) in the White House.
