The Lakewood City Council opens a two-year session on Monday, Jan. 5, with both housekeeping and a few matters related to city business.
You can find the full agenda here as well as learn how to attend in person or online. After the swearing in of new members Philip Lindholm and Ellen Talbo, the council will be choosing a new presiding officer – the mayor – and a deputy mayor.
The city publishes a tentative list of topics that might be coming up in front of the council. The list that follows was current as of Friday evening, and you can always check for updates on the city’s website. It looks like the study session a week from Monday will have a focus on how the ‘new’ council as a group and individuals will work with various volunteer groups within the city.

I am not sure who picked the picture of City Hall, but I had to chuckle. That fountain has not worked for a few years!
It’s somewhat intentional, Paul, a bit tongue-in-cheek; and I’m hoping someone notices and sends me a new picture! The Cascadian welcomes all kinds of content 😀
